Colorful Wings

I took these photos a couple of weeks ago and am just now getting around to editing them. Look how colorful they are! My first love is photographing people, and now horses, too. But I also really enjoy trying to capture the beauty of nature. Bugs and flowers are always favorite subjects.

A Fun Day

I spent a day with clients turned friends, German and Brandie, yesterday. Brandie is the proud owner of a new Nikon D80 digital SLR. We met at their farm at 7:30 a.m. to try and capture some of the wonderful wildlife at their pond. Well, there wasn't too much wildlife, but we did get some gorgeous dragonfly shots. We also saw a pair of bluebirds checking out one of the duck boxes to see if it was suitable for a new home. And the resident pond ducks eventually came out for a quick photo.

Brandie wanted to jump right in and begin shooting manually. After some brief instruction, she picked it right up and captured some beautiful images!!! I could tell she was thrilled!

She looks just like a professional, don't you think?

If you're wondering WHAT she's shooting here ... well it's her beloved dog, Chato, who was quite content to just nap in the grass.

I couldn't leave German out! Here he is playing on his tractor! He kept trying to hide his face behind the bucket, but I managed to caputure this great shot of him!

We played until almost dinner time. I had a fabulous time, even though the temps were in the lower 90s! Way past my melting point! Brandie kept laughing at me everytime I wandered under a shade tree for a little respite from the sun. Then I came home and fell fast asleep on the couch. :)

Just a Little Scruffy

Photobucket

This is my 16, almost 17, year old son. THIS is his summer look. He hasn't shaved since school let out in June!! A little scruffy I say. He thinks it's cool. :)
Ok, maybe it does look a little cool. It certainly makes him look older! Yikes!

My Girls

My girls went with me yesterday for a second day of shooting at Santa Ana Paso Finos Farm. German and Brandie have the most wonderful horses. They are all so sweet and have such personalities. The girls had a blast hanging out with them. AND they got to ride a little - despite the tornado force thunderstorm that rolled through!

Just look at these smiles. They've only been on a horse one other time in their life, so this was pretty exciting! And Dick is such a sweet horse.

Meet German and Brandie (and their four-legged children) Chato and Isabel, co-owners of Santa Ana Paso Finos Farm. They are the most delightful couple. They made us feel right at home and kept us laughing all day! We've definitely added them to our list of most favorite people. :)
