The Faces of K.K.

My youngest decided she would allow me to take some pics of her in the late evening sun. And she actually smiled and showed me her crazy, wacky side! Yahoooo! It was an absolutely gorgeous evening as you can see.

Look at the beautiful forsythia blooming in the background. They are everywhere! My backyard is like a sea of yellow. Too bad they don't stay like that all summer.

Love these full blown giggle shots. :)

I'm trying to teach myself to shoot in the sun more. I've always been a little afraid of it, always heading for the shade. But if you get the sun right, it's just beautiful. Especially backlight or sidelight. This is full on frontal sun, but it was late evening and I think it came out pretty good.

This is me playing in Photoshop. Here's a pic I took of my son, that I turned into a sort of painted look. Kinda cool!

A Young Man

This handsome young man is my sixteen year old son. He won't sit for me often, but I sorta guilted him into it today. Hey, whatever it takes!!

I told him he could wear a hat (that way he didn't have to comb his hair). The kids are on spring break this week, so grooming is really not on their radar. Hence the very prickly face on this boy!

I'm so glad he sat for me today. Looking at these reminds me just how grown up he's getting to be and how important it is to capture these times before they're gone.

More with ....

Don't they look terrific? Fabulous subject matter, so photogenic, so much fun... :)

This park was really pretty, just a tad on the bright side. The leaves aren't quite out yet, but they're coming!

Can't wait for the wedding. It won't be for awhile yet, but I know it will be absolutely beautiful. They will be beautiful!

Some of my favorite shots are the ones between shots, you know when everyone's trying to get situated. Sometimes they are the best captures.

It was great to see you guys! It had been awhile! Don't wait so long next time! And get going on those wedding plans!!!

Love you guys! ~ Momma Keys
A pet peeve .... You know what really annoys me??? When the boxes in my post don't space evenly. I just hate that!!!! I've spent 5 minutes trying to get them to fix themselves, but they're being stubborn, so I apologize for them for misbehaving so. Please overlook their total lack of symmetry.

A Little More Fun With The Easter Bunny

We couldn't help but have a little more fun with our handsome yarden bunny...

These beautifully dyed eggs compliments of a crafty twelve year old with vibrant purple fingernails!

Looks like someone got a little touch of Easter color himself!

All Easter artwork compliments of the sweet and sassy young lady below, my youngest, KK.
She's a keeper!

Hope everyone 's day was as colorful as ours!!! :)

Happy Easter Every-Bunny!

Prayers for Juan Carlos

As ya'll know I've spent quite a bit of time out at Rancho El Destino over the last month. Juan and Lisa are the nicest people you could ever meet. I feel like I've known them forever.

When you look at Juan, he's the picture of health, but in fact he's battling leukemia. He's been in remission for a few months and was enjoying riding and being with his beloved horses. After my second trip out to the ranch, Juan had a relapse and has been in the hospital ever since. He's undergoing treatments and working on getting back on his feet and back to his ranch, horses and family. Please keep him, and his family, in your thoughts and prayers.

Yep. Back at the Ranch!

I was back at Rancho El Destino this morning to take a few more shots for Juan and Lisa. Here's a quick peek at one adorable baby (and it's protective mommy). Too cute!

Will post some more later ....

Beautiful Blossoms

These delicate beauties are Bradford Pear tree blossoms. Aren't they lovely? Next, we'll have Dogwood and Crabapple blossoms. Can't wait! They are all so pretty!

Countdown to Spring !!!

I'm so excited!!!! In just a few more days SPRING will be here! Then we can finally shed some of those winter clothes, put on some fresh colors and have flowers again!!!!

And the dull lifeless trees will be green once again! I can't tell you how GIDDY this makes me. :)

These two little girls are a couple of my favorite models. And they love SPRING too! This year we're adding butterfly nets, watering cans, cute rain boots and a bubble machine to our spring frivolity! I can see the pictures in my mind... can't wait to capture them with my camera!

Stay tuned!
